On the ground floor the theme is the evolution of land and human on the Padana Plain, while on the first floor it's possible to look at the transformation of the Delta region. In particular there's a specific area dedicated to the Etrurian period and the City of Spina. Moreover, the museum has experimental laboratories regarding stone, archaeological and zoological techniques, in addition to interactive games. Continuos updatings are in store for the future, thanks to the scientific help given by University of Ferrara as well as new archeological researches held by the Superintendence of Emilia-Romagna.

The Ostellato Territory Museum has obtained the status of Quality Museum by the Institute for Cultural Heritage of Emilia-Romagna.
