Also known as the Teatro Scientifico or Teatro Accademico, it was founded by the members of the Accademia Virgiliana and used as a theatre for performances, scientific experiments and doctrinal exibitions. It was build by Antonio Galli Bibiena of Parma who lavished his creative genius on it, making it one of the most complete examples of rococo theatre architecture. It was opened in 1769 and a month later Amadeus Mozart gave a concert here.
